BHANGRA ELECTIVE: Visshaal S Kanoi, aka Vish, is from the land of musicals - India. What started as a hobby at the age of 11 years, became a raging career in adulthood, with a massive fan following for his expertise in Bollywood dancing, Indo-Jazz, Fusion Hip Hop, along with the Indian folk dance styles like Bhangra and Garba. Vish was in some of the biggest events of India like the IIFA which is being held in New York this year. He has shared the stage with Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Susmita Sen to name a few and has also performed in international shows. He further honed his skills by training under the Doctor of Jazz, Mr. Frank Hatchett at Broadway Dance Center, New York. He was invited as a guest artist at CityDance Center, Washington DC, Paul Pellicoro's DanceSport Manhattan, Hubbard Street Dance, Chicago from 2009 onwards. Vish has been a favorite with Indian media with leading newspapers and magazines covering him, and it only got better when even The Washington Post covered his workshop in Washington DC, where he had Sasha Obama, the daughter of former President Barack Obama, as one of his students. His workshops are a unique blend of technique, fusion routines, and expressions of emotions culminating into a showcase/performance as the finale.

HIP HOP ELECTIVE: Rolanda Catapano is a natural born talent and has been dancing since a young age. She received her formal training from the Broadway Dance Center. From music videos with artists such as Shaggy and international artists, to showcases such as Carnival, Sybarite and Sirens After Dark, Rolanda's presence on the scene was meteoric. With her career blossoming exponentially she chose to continue training under her mentor La Jon Dantzler from the BDC program where she got the opportunity to become a part of his company: La' Fuerza. Parallel to this occurrence her West Indian background provided an instant attraction to the movement and style of Laure Courtellemont. Combining her background with the tools acquired from La Jon enabled her to become a member of Laure's company: Ragga Jam and transition into the role of her New York assistant within a short time span. With both La Jon and Laure nurturing her growth Rolanda plans to share her information with others teaching and dancing across the world.
