CLASS DESCRIPTIONS:

 

Ballet

Ballet is a beginner/open level class for adults who are new to ballet or returning to ballet. Class begins with a classical barre sequence, followed by movement in center. Focused on developing flexibility, alignment, strength, balance and posture, Ballet is a great complement to your yoga or Pilates practice. 

Barre Fitness 

Barre Fitness is a total body workout open to women and men of all fitness levels. It is a low cardio and intense toning class that works to elongate the muscles while burning fat. The class utilizes the use of the barre, small hand weights, and other props to improve posture, give muscle definition, increase flexibility, and encourage weight loss. Each class is choreographed to a specific playlist to help motivate and give that extra musical push. Barre fitness targets the smaller muscles that often get lost in regular cardio or boot camp classes such as the oblique muscles, transverse abdominals, triceps, inner thighs, and gluteus. Expect to have fun and leave sweaty!

Beer & Ballroom
Monthly Sessions, Various Styles

Join us for a fun evening of socializing and ballroom dance! At 6:30pm, we will meet for a beer and social gathering, and at 7:00-8:00pm, we will learn some basic dance steps. No partner is necessary, and no prior dance experience is required - we will all be learning and having fun together! This event is only $15, and includes your first beer and dance lesson. See who else is going: Join our Meetup group!

Bootcamp - Temporarily Unavailable

Bootcamp is an open-level interval training fitness class. Whole-body toning and strengthening are paired with cardio and stretching to provide a well-rounded and rigorous workout. This class is an excellent compliment to dance and wellness practices as it increases endurance, flexibility, strength, and balance, as well as improves posture and confidence. 

Classical Pilates

The original fitness method developed by Joseph Pilates that targets the core and helps building lasting strength and flexibility. This class is tailored for all levels from beginner to advanced - don't be afraid to join even if you have never done Pilates before! All exercises can be modified to your individual level, and over time Pilates will help you develop a stronger, tighter core, balanced strength in all areas of the body, and improved flexibility and posture. Pilates is a great compliment to any exercise routine, and, as an added bonus, reduces lower back pain and improves performance in athletics and dance! 

Contemporary

Contemporary utilizes both contemporary and jazz dance techniques as an expressive vehicle. With the language of contemporary dance as a meeting point, students will strive to improve their technical contemporary dance grounding; allowing them to develop their movement, improvisation and choreographic skills while also developing their creative abilities and body as a tool for communication. 

Hip Hop

Hip Hop is an energetic and fun class for beginner-level dancers. Learn basic steps, rhythms, musicality and phrasing and choreography to popular hip hop music. This class is a fun way to increase confidence through movement.

Modern Dance

Modern Dance is a unique class that highlights movement patterns in view of body awareness, breath and a range of technical styles, creating a holistic dancing experience from the inside out. Gently guided through movement phrasing, students will focus on enhancing alignment, strength and flexibility while also developing a sense of artistry in action. 

Modern Dance Company
*Modern dance company will not meet during the summer.

We're offering a brand new dance company in the Dancewave style for adults only! This modern dance company is for adults at all dance levels. Rehearsals incorporate aspects of our Adult Modern class, while members work creatively as a collective to produce dance works for performance. Through this process dancers are introduced to an understanding of choreography through guided tasks and choreographic direction. Commitment to regular attendance is a necessity.

Zumba

Zumba classes feature exotic rhythms set to high-energy Latin and international beats. Before participants know it, they’re getting fit and their energy levels are soaring! There’s no other fitness class like a Zumba Fitness-Party. It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating, often building a deep-rooted community among returning students.
