Dancewave’s popular Summer Dance Intensive for teens takes place Park Slope & Downtown Brooklyn in August. The SDI Beg- Int program, August 18-29, presents a unique opportunity for teens (10-18 yrs) to learn different dance disciplines in an exciting and challenging full day, 2-week program taught by renowned professional teachers. New this summer is an additional ADVANCED program (ages 15+) from August 11-22, 2007 by audition only.

Class offerings include:
Ballet, Modern, Yoga, and Pilates. For elective classes, students can choose between Tap, Street Jazz, Theatre Jazz, Hip Hop, African, and Jazz.
New to this year's line-up: Repertory, Improv/Choreogpraphy, Salsa & Capoeira!

New this year is our Advanced Intensive with Giade Ferrone (Ballet), Ashleigh Leite (Modern & Repertory), and Michael Foley (Modern & Improv/Choreography) , to be held August 11-22, open to high school and college students by audition only. This program will provide a unique opportunity to hone advanced students' choreography and performance skills.

Faculty for the Summer Dance Intensive have included Jeremy Nelson, Nia love, David Leventhal, Mirielle Radwan-Dana and Kraig Patterson of Mark Morris Dance Group; Jennifer Nugent, Paul Matteson, and Jeanine Durning of David Dorfman Dance; Yah-Ya Kamate, Martha Tornay, Jennifer Archibald, Katiti King, Rosemarie Roberts, Meredith Exler, Merceditas Manago-Alexander, Diane Jacobowitz, Nicole Scheller, Anna Brown and Christina Briggs and Edward Winslow of Incidents Physical Theater.

All Beg- Int classes take place at Old First Reformed Church, 729 Carroll Street (corner of 7th Avenue in Park Slope).
All Advanced classe take place at The New Dancewave Center, 45 Fourth Avenue (Corner of Dean St.)
